MY approach

Personalised care

Sharing the health journey with my patients and ensuring that they receive personalised and compassionate care is the most rewarding part of my job. I provide a patient-centred approach and will take the time to explain your condition and available treatment options so that you can make informed choices about your own healthcare.

ABOUT ME

An FNQ local

I have had a lengthy relationship with Far North Queensland, first coming to Cairns Hospital as a junior doctor in 2006.

During my specialist training years, I worked in various hospitals throughout Queensland, including Cairns Hospital, The Townsville Hospital, and Mater Hospital in Brisbane, before completing my fellowship in 2016. Since then, I have worked as a public Obstetrician Gynaecologist at Cairns Hospital, where I continue to work as a part-time Senior Staff Specialist.

In my spare time I love gardening, reading, hiking, and spending time with my husband, 3 kids and menagerie of furry family members.

I have a special interest in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery, and in 2018 I completed additional training under the mentorship of a subspecialist gynaecology oncologist to further my skills in laparoscopic surgery. I also enjoy my role as a clinical educator and am heavily involved in junior doctor training and supervision at Cairns Hospital.
